Tale Three

This photograph, taken in Mill Street, Stirling, is the last known image of Father Joseph Mancini, an Italian-born Toronto priest. He was discovered by his housekeeper at his Oak Lake summer cottage, bludgeoned to death in 1941. The car in the photo was later found in North Bay. The culprit was never apprehended and the case remains open.

The man on the right of the photograph is Clifford Newton Baker, owner of Baker’s Service Station in Stirling and a veteran of both the Canadian Army and the Royal Air Force in the First World War.
