Tale Thirteen

This is the Circle Six Orchestra, a band which formed in Deseronto in the 1920s. Reading from left to right the players are  Reginald Dawson, Roy Woodcock, Clayton John, James McVicker, Marshall Woodcock and Roy Kitchen (who later moved to Tweed).

James McVicker was the Fire Chief for the town of Deseronto and also the town's Postmaster between 1932 and 1970.

The name Circle Six refers to the Inferno section of Dante’s poem Divine Comedy. Dante describes the sixth circle of Hell as full of open, flaming tombs reserved for people guilty of heresy.
